Hey folks, today I am sharing with you a simple and minimalist recipe of a salad skewer that is not only tri-colored and patriotic but also kid friendly. It’s a dish that everyone in the family can enjoy.
As I mentioned earlier that my son is obsessed with tooth picks these days and uses them for food sculpture. So yesterday, while I was in the kitchen chopping bell peppers and paneer, he pulled out the wooden skewers from the kitchen drawer and started assembling the paneer and bell peppers. I wish I had taken a picture, my camera wasn’t handy. So this post is inspired from his creativity.
Tirange (Tricolored) Salad Skewers are nothing but salad on skewers. Nothing fancy just a slice of paneer between colored bell peppers. They look very vibrant, plus medley of textures, soft and crunchy make it a perfect combdo with dressing.
- 3 wooden skewers
- 3 orange bell pepper cubes
- 3 green bell pepper cubes
- 3 paneer cubes
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Lemon juice, to taste
- Assemble the skewers with a slice of green pepper first, then paneer and finally orange pepper.
- Sprinkle salt, pepper and lemon juice on it and its ready to crunch and munch.
If you plan to grill it, soak the wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before assembling the vegetables. You can also marinate the same to enhance the flavor.
I was in the mood of something, quick and easy thus my version is very straight forward.
