Halloween is just around the corner and A has already started collecting treats. We went for our first Halloween event of the season yesterday. Lucky for me that he wasn’t really interested in collecting the treats but more so interested in seeing all the other superheros out there. He was dressed as an Iron Man and was so excited to see his favorites, Captain Americas & Batmans. Although he was a little under the weather over the weekend, he had a nice time at the event. So this morning he wasn’t really excited about going to school after all the fun he had. To add a little fun to monday morning, I made these fruit mummies for him, using an apple and a pear. It was our breakfast this morning, a fun way to consume fruit. I peeled the fruit for him, while he decorated the eyes. I had run out of mini chocolate chips, so I used black pepper corns. Please make sure that your child doesn’t consume them. I couldn’t get the apple to hold it’s position upright so I placed it on a couple of cheerios.
We talked about mummies, although he kept correcting me the word is ‘mommies’ not mummies. Then I reminded him about how much fun he would have doing all the Halloween art and craft in school this week. The trick worked well. Off to school he is.
