Its delicious, mild flavored, rich looking curry made with fenugreek leaves, green peas and Mushrooms. This is a simple, healthy, easy and quick recipe, which can be served with rotis/parathas/naans and even with rice.
This is a quickie, not necessarily authentic, but super tasty 4 sure!Methi and mutter are a super-hit combination as their flavors complement each other well. Methi has plenty of iron and vitamin & green peas provide fibre which adds bulk and satiates your appetite. This recipe is a perfect accompaniment for nutritious whole whole kulcha/ naans.
Almonds & Hung curd perked with onion and spices imparts a creamy texture to this sabji and eliminates the use of high calorie ingredients such as cream and cashew-nuts.You can use panner/cottage cheese if you want instead of mushrooms or use both. This is a good way of adding fenugreek to the diet of those who are fussy about eating green leafy vegetables.
- 1 Tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp cumin seed/zeera
- Whole spices Cinnamon stick,Cardamom, bay leaf, star Anise
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 tbsp ginger ,garlic and green chilli paste
- 1/2 cup green peas/frozen
- 1/2 cup dried fenugreek Leaves /kastoori methi
- 1/2 cup button mushrooms
- 1-1/2 cup hung curd
- 10-15 almonds/ soaked
- salt to taste
- fresh black pepper powder
