Now that Halloween is gone, we have been talking to A about Diwali. He seems to be all excited about it. Last weekend we put up the lights outdoors and he loved assisting and directing us. He loves lighting up the Diyas / tea lights around the house. Today we spoke of Kandeels / Paper lanterns. We talked about the different styles and shapes of Kandeels, and that most of them have tails at the bottom. While he took his afternoon nap, I made him an edible Kandeel snack using his favorite vegetables, carrots and cucumbers. Just another attempt to make his snack fun and healthy. If he wasn’t napping I would have engaged made this an activity. I would have outlined the Kandeel and asked him to fill it up with the carrots in parallel lines or even cross pattern. He did play around with the carrots and cucumbers though.
Early Diwali greetings to all you folks who celebrate the Festival of lights. Have a safe and Happy Diwali.
