Description

Wow your guests with this crowd-pleasing Cranberry Jalapeno Cream Cheese Dip! Creamy, spicy, and tangy - it's a flavor explosion in every bite!


Ingredients

  • 12 oz cup fresh cranberries
  • 2 (8 oz) package of regular cream cheese
  • 1-2 chopped jalapenos (seeded for less heat)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 medium Lemon
  • 3 or 4 Chopped green onion

Instructions

A. Preparing the cranberry mixture

To create the perfect cranberry mixture for your dip, follow these simple steps:

  1. Rinse fresh cranberries thoroughly
  2. Chop cranberries finely using a food processor and pulse until finely chopped. Transfer cranberry mixture to a bowl. 

B. Chopping jalapeños safely

When handling jalapeños, safety is key. Here's how to chop them without any mishaps:

  1. Wear disposable gloves to protect your hands
  2. Remove stems and seeds from jalapeños
  3. Finely dice the jalapeños using a sharp knife, Wash hands thoroughly after handling, even if wearing gloves
  4. Chop green onion, and cilantro.
  5. In a medium-sized bowl, add chopped cranberries, green onion, cilantro and jalapeños.
  6. Add sugar, and lemon juice on top of cranberry mixture and stir gently until blended.
  7. Cover with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for 1 hr. or overnight.

    C. Blending with cream cheese

    Now, let's combine our ingredients for a creamy, flavorful dip:

    1. Soften cream cheese at room temperature
    2. Spread cream cheese onto a serving plate and top with cranberry mixture. if there is lot of liquid you can strain out all liquid using a colander with small holes.
    3. Sprinkle with remaining jalapeno and reserved green onions.  Serve with your favorite crackers and veggies

    D. Chilling for optimal flavor

    To achieve the best taste and texture:

    1. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl
    2. Cover with plastic wrap
    3. Refrigerate for at least 1 hours, preferably overnight
