Description

Make soft, melt-in-the-mouth Sheera (Sooji Halwa) with this easy recipe. Perfect for prasad or a quick dessert! Ready in 15 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sooji (Semolina)
  • 1 cup Ghee
  • 3/4 cup Sugar ( can also be adjusted to taste)
  • 3 cups Water - Or milk
  • 1 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 1/4 cup Almonds (optional)
  • 1 tbsp dried crushed Rose Petals (optional)
  • Raisins - Optional, Adds a natural sweetness

Instructions

  1. Roast the Semolina – Heat ghee in a pan and add the sooji. Roast it on a medium flame, stirring continuously, until it turns golden brown and aromatic.
  2. Cook & Stir – Add the water, followed by sugar keep stirring until the mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  3. Add Almonds, Raisins & Cardamom Powder– Stir in the slivered almonds, and raisins if using any, followed by cardamom powder. Incorporate the ingredients together for another 1-2 minutes. Serve warm.
