Crusty French baguettes go perfectly with your favorite meal. With minimal prep time and a 15-minute bake time, they are a great option when you want something fast.

Quick Rise Yeast Very Warm Water Flour Sugar Salt Oil

KEY INGREDIENTS

Combine sugar, yeast and water, let sit for 5 minutes. Mix flour and salt, then slowly add in the yeast mixture. Gradually add warm water and mix until the dough comes together into a ball that is not too wet. Knead for 5 minutes.

Lightly-oil inner pot of the Instant Pot. Use your hands to form the dough into a ball and place into the inner pot. Roll dough in the oil. Allow your dough to rise in the Instant Pot on the yogurt setting until double in size.

Punch down the dough before removing it from the Instant Pot. Divide into 2 sections and do a series of stretch and folds until the baguettes are 12-15 in. long and 2 in. wide.

Next, flip the seam-side down and place on a sheet pan or baguette pan. Score the tops of the loaves. Cover with a dishcloth and let rise until they have doubled in size, which will be around 30 minutes.

Pre-heat the oven to 425°F. Place the baguettes in the oven with a pan of ice cubes on the bottom rack. The ice will melt and create a burst of steam that will give the baguettes a nice crispy crust.

The baguettes will need to bake for about 15 minutes or until they turn a golden brown color. Allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving.
