Jamaican  Rice and Peas 

Jamaican rice and peas are a tasty dish that will instantly transport your taste buds to the Caribbean. Make this and treat your family to a mealtime vacation!

– Oil – Green Onions – Kidney Beans – Brown Rice – Medium Onion – Garlic Cloves – Ginger – Fresh Thyme – Scotch Bonnet Pepper – Allspice – Salt – Coconut Milk

INGREDIENTS

Use the sauté function to sauté the onion, green onions, garlic, ginger, and chili and then give them a  good stir. Cook until they become aromatic.

Add the brown rice and toast for a few seconds. Stir in water, coconut milk, all spice mix, and salt. Stir in the kidney beans and drop in the thyme springs.

After the thyme is added, pressure cook for 18 minutes followed by a natural  pressure release.

Serve the rice and peas with a garnishment of green onions and thyme. Serve it warm in individual bowls.
