  • Baking cocoa - You can use bittersweet or dark chocolate, both work well for this.
  • Maple syrup - If you do not follow a vegan diet, you could use honey.
  • Vanilla extract 
  • Chocolate chips - We use these for garnish, or you could mix them into the hummus for some added texture.
  • Dippables - You can use crackers, fruits, nuts, pretzels, cookies, or your favorite dippers.

How to make Chocolate Hummus

Here’s what you need to do in order to make this easy chocolate hummus at home:

  • First, soak the chickpeas overnight or place in boiling water for at least an hour.
  • Next, drain the water and add the chickpeas to the inner pot of the Instant Pot.
  • Once the chickpeas are in, pour in the water and pressure cook for 40 minutes or until soft.

  • For the smoothest texture, peel the skins off the chickpeas. This step is optional but recommended.
  • Finally, combine all the ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth.

  • Baking cocoa ¼ cup
