When you make mushrooms in the air fryer, you will want to follow these easy steps:

  • First, preheat your air fryer to 400°F.
  • Next, toss the mushrooms with olive oil and soy sauce and then season with pepper.
  • When ready, place the mushrooms in the air fryer basket, leaving a bit of room between each piece. Cook them for 6 to 8 minutes, shaking the basket after about 4 minutes.

  • Finally, remove from the air fryer and place in a small bowl. Toss with garlic, melted butter, and parsley.

Air fryer mushrooms work with smaller sized white or portobello mushrooms. You want to avoid the large portobello caps or other larger or smaller mushrooms.

Are mushrooms healthy?

Mushrooms are a healthy veggie that you can add to any recipe to provide some additional nutrients. However, though mushrooms are healthy, we do add some butter and oil, so you will get some added fat. If you are looking to cut fat, you can skip the butter altogether.

When we make this air fryer mushroom recipe, we use smaller mushrooms. If they are not the same size, then we cut the larger ones in half to help make them roughly even in size. This allows them to cook more evenly in the air fryer.
If they have long stems, you should trim them just a bit so they are roughly the same size.

How to clean mushrooms

When you clean mushrooms, you want to be careful to avoid breaking them too much, but you also want to make sure to get all the dirt off them by scrubbing them gently with a damp paper towel.  
You can then rinse them with a bit of cool water.

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley finely chopped
