This is the best stir fry sauce ever and makes the perfect dipping gravy or add to your favorite stir fries. You can make this sauce well in advance of your meal and have an easy sauce to serve with your rice, stir fry, noodle bowls, or other favorite recipes.

Our vegan stir fry sauce needs no adjustments if you follow the diet. And while it has plenty of flavor, you can add additional flavors to make it perfect for you!

To make homemade stir fry sauce, you’ll need to the following ingredients:

  • Sesame oil - This adds some flavor, but you could use a different oil if you prefer.
  • Soy sauce - You could use tamarind for a gluten free sauce if you like.
  • Rice vinegar - You could use white wine vinegar instead.
  • Maple Syrup
  • Garlic minced or grated 
  • Grated ginger
  • Cornstarch - This helps to thicken the sauce.
  • Water - When you use this, make sure it is cool.
  • For garnish- We use both chopped spring onions and white sesame seeds.

Here is how to make stir fry sauce at home:

  • First, heat the sesame oil in a wok or large, nonstick pan.
  • Toss in the ginger garlic and then cook until fragrant.
  • When ready, add in the soy sauce and vinegar.
  • Next, make a cornstarch slurry by mixing the corn flour with the water. Mix it well to make sure there are so lumps or clumps.
  • When the slurry is smooth, add it to the sauce to thicken it.
  • Serve warm with your favorite rice and other dishes.
