I must admit that I love pineapples and I don’t get to eat enough of it. I simply cannot resist a fresh, juicy pineapple. and nothing beats that fresh, juicy pineapple in Hawaii. The pineapple in and from Hawaii is by far the best I still remember the freshness and aroma from my last visit. Yes, I would like to go to Hawaii just for the amazing and fresh fruits that you get there. In my humble opinion, It cannot get better than that.   Since I can’t go to Hawaii right now, I will just enjoy the season by adding pineapple in recipes that enhance the flavor.

I love it when pineapples are on sale and always grab few because I and my family can go through them pretty fast :P  I AM NOT KIDDING! I like adding it to my teriyaki fried rice, quinoa fried rice, Salads, holy moly guacamole too or even just grilling them on the grill. Like many other recipes, one idea led to another and then the next thing  I found myself in the kitchen making this JAM. To call it a success doesn’t even cut it. I LOVE this 3 Ingredient Pineapple Jam in my Instant Pot and my kids are crazy about pineapple jam.

Make your own homemade Jam with the ingredients you love

The point of this healthy Pineapple jam is to show you that you can totally make jam at home without refined sugar and the added preservatives from store bought. So even if you don’t have Pineapple around you, grab any other fruit around you and let’s make some healthy jam. Mango, the 3 ingredient strawberry jam or mix berries will work well here. I’m also departing slightly from tradition in jam recipes that you’ll find online. Though there’s a hefty amount of traditional pineapple, there’s also the warmth of ginger (you can certainly skip it, however its highly recommended), a splash of lime and the sweetness from the honey.

Quick and Easy Homemade Pineapple Jam

This simple pineapple jam only takes 30 minutes from start to finish and is the perfect condiment for your toast for spring and summertime breakfast. This tropical flavor jam is sweet, bright, and refreshing. You are going to LOVE it!  This Pineapple jam is sweetened with honey and to tell you the truth, I can’t tell the difference between this jam and jam made with sugar. It is sweet, fruity with a gel-like consistency, just like a jam should be. And oh, it is also made without pectin. So refined sugar-free healthy jam for the win! Of course, you are skipping the additional unnecessary ingredients like preservatives by making it at home and controlling the level of sweetness you want.

The great thing about homemade jams is that you can tweak basic recipes to make them unique. Whether you like a balance of salt and sweet, or spicy and tart, the possibilities are endless. You can apply this simple jam making technique to a wide variety of fruits. This jam recipe is absolutely preservative free yet and you can store it for weeks if kept in an air-tight jar. So, for a delicious breakfast spread with toasted bread and a freshly made batch of pineapple jam, prepare this easily at home. Since we don’t use pectin, the addition of lime juice is very important, for safe canning and to prevent the growth of bacteria. It also tastes and smells so heavenly and no introduction is needed for this yummy jam.

The cost of making these preserves/jam is much less than buying store-bought with the added benefit of knowing exactly what ingredients are being used. This makes it an added bonus of being a much healthier food option.

How do I pick a good pineapple for the Instant pot Pineapple Jam Recipe?

I always smell the bottom of the pineapple at the store.  If it smells like a pineapple—even if it’s just a hint of pineapple scent—then it usually ends up being a good one.  If you can’t smell anything at all, no good.

After you core & peel see how much juice was squeezing out (it is worth drinking )My two kids always fight for the juice! This helps to reduce cooking time.

The best way to peel & cut a Pineapple for this homemade pineapple jam

Slice the pineapple however you like but we love this very handy pineapple cutter. It lets you peel, slice and core pineapple in one go. It is a fantastic tool and a must-have kitchen appliance. It’s very reasonably priced too!
If you do not have this pineapple cutter no worries peel it the old fashioned way. Just make sure you get as many of those little knots out and the seeds that are in those knots.

Do not immediately refrigerate.

Let the jam sit at room temperature for at least 24 hours. This Instant Pot Pineapple Jam is home-made, fresh, small batch jam, with no preservatives or chemicals and requires some settling time. You can store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
You can also store in the freezer for around 1 year.  If frozen, thaw in the refrigerator before using.

Looking for alternative sweeteners for this homemade pineapple jam?

You can use maple syrup, brown sugar, raw sugar,  splenda/trivia/  Stevia to sweeten your homemade pineapple jam as per your liking.

      Hi Cheryl,
Sterilized glass containers or jars, leaving 1/2″ headspace. Seal the containers or jars following the instructions that came with your canning jars.

Thank you for posting this! I really enjoy your site. It’s pretty. My mom bought me an instant pot last year and just last night as I was wiping the dust off of it, I began to think that I really should start using it. I actually cannot wait to try this recipe! It will be something fun for my son and I to do together. Thanks a lot!

Hi Eve, YES! Process in a boiling water bath or steam canner 10 minutes. Remove jars and place on a kitchen towel on your counter-top. Let sit 24 hours undisturbed. Jars are sealed when button on lid is fully depressed and won’t flex up and down.

Store in pantry up to one year.
